Jalapeno Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 -3 fresh jalapeños seeded and finely diced
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Soften the Cheese: Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure the smoothest, lump-free texture.
Beat the Base: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer or wooden spoon until it is completely smooth and creamy.
Mix the Dressing: Add the sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and perfectly smooth.
Fold the Add-ins: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and sliced green onions using a spatula until they are evenly distributed.
Adjust Flavor: Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning if needed. Add an extra jalapeño if you prefer more heat.
Chill: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover it tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to blend properly.

Notes
We cannot stress enough how important it is to let your cream cheese completely soften to room temperature! Mixing cold cream cheese will result in an unappetizing, lumpy dip that will never smooth out, no matter how hard you stir.
