Copycat KFC Chicken Recipe Is The Stuff!

When I was growing up my parents would take my siblings and I out to eat once every couple of weeks. With five kids we never went to any place to fancy…not because mom and dad didn’t have the money but because we kids were loud and crazy haha! So, we’d typically go to a fast food joint like KFC. Boy, did I ever love that fried chicken. I still do to this day but I don’t like all the nasty ingredients they use.

So, I came upon this copycat KFC ORIGINAL recipe and I smiled from ear to ear. How awesome is it that we can make KFC from the comforts of our own kitchens?! I’m totally stoked about this recipe.

When you make this yummy recipe be sure to leave me a comment in the section below so I know how it turned out. Enjoy!

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds of chicken (legs, thighs, breast – whatever preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Finish off the chicken by baking it for about 1 hour, or until juices run clear.
