Easy Caramel Apples

I was thinking about this when making caramel apples the other day and thought I would share with everyone here. 🙂

NOTE: You can also substitute the caramel for peanut butter instead for a healthier version for the kidlets.

Kitchen Tips
Tip 1: Size Wise, Caramel apples can be rolled in a variety of coatings for a sweet treat that is perfect for gift-giving or for serving on a special occasion.

Tip 2: Note, Wash and dry apples thoroughly before dipping into melted caramels so that the caramel sticks to the apples.

Tip 3: Special ExtraRoll freshly dipped caramel apples in 1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS COCKTAIL Peanuts. Place on prepared plate and continue as directed.

Tip 4: Special Extra, Melt 2 oz. BAKER’S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate. Drizzle over freshly dipped apples; place on prepared plate. Continue as directed.

Tip 5: Easy Microwave Melting, Place caramel bits and water in medium microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 2 min.; stir until caramel bits are completely melted.

To Make this Recipe You’Il Need the following ingredients:

Ingredients

  • Granny smith apples
  • Caramel

Instructions

Cut your apples in half. Remove stems.
Hollow out each half by coring and shaving away some of the inner apple. (I use a muffin tin to help balance.)
Fill with warmed caramel. (You can use homemade or you can use store-bought and microwave it in 15 second intervals until warmed.)
Let the caramel cool and harden. Once completely cooled, cut apples into slice and serve.
