FRIED APPLE or PEACH PIES




Ingredients :

+The dough:

° A cup and a half of flour
° A third of a cup of cold butter cut into cubes
° A third of a cup of liquid milk
° A small spoon of baking powder
° Pinch of salt
° A tablespoon of sugar

+The filling:

° 3 apples, peeled and cut into small cubes
° A third of a cup of sugar
° 2 tablespoons of apple sticks
° 2 teaspoons of starch
° Juice of half a small lemon
° 1 teaspoon cinnamon
+For the face:
° Sugar Icing

How to prepare :

We start preparing the filling by placing all the ingredients of the filling, except the apples, in a suitable bowl over the fire, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the consistency of the mixture becomes thicker.
Put the apple cubes and stir well, then reduce the temperature, cover the mixture and leave it on the stove for 5 minutes. Remove the mixture from the stove and transfer it to another container until it is completely cooled.
While the filling is cooling down, start preparing the dough. Mix the flour with sugar, salt and baking powder, then add the cold butter cubes and mix with the tips of the fingers until the mixture turns into granules.
We add the milk and start assembling the dough until we get a cohesive dough. It might require a some milk.
Cover the dough with plasticine and put in the refrigerator for half an hour.
After removing the dough from the refrigerator, divide it into 3 equal parts and spread each section into a large rectangle, dividing each rectangle into two halves.
Brush the edges of each rectangle with milk or water, then add a tablespoon of filling to one half of each rectangle and fold the other side with pressure on the ends.
Fry the pancakes in copious oil over a medium heat, remove them from the oil on the kitchen tissues, then sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
