Slow Cooker Crack Chicken




This is my original slow cooker crack chicken! Delicious and addictive as it sounds. I created this slow cooker recipe with busy families in mind, and it took the internet by storm!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs 900g boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz 225g cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup 120ml chicken broth
  • 1 packet 1 oz / 28g ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup 100g shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup 75g cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 –3 green onions sliced (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Slow Cooker Crack Chicken

Prepare the Slow Cooker
Lightly grease the slow cooker with non-stick spray or a small amount of butter.
Layer the Ingredients
Place chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Sprinkle ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the chicken.
Pour chicken broth over the chicken.
Place cream cheese blocks on top of the chicken.
Cook the Chicken
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Shred & Mix
Remove chicken and shred it using two forks.
Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix with the melted cream cheese and juices.
Add Cheese & Bacon
Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
Let it melt for 5–10 minutes in the slow cooker.
Serve & Garnish
Spoon onto rice, bread, or serve as-is.
Sprinkle with sliced green onions for freshness.
